Special Licence Applications

There are two types of work licences available in Queensland.   Both have strict conditions and time limits to apply.  These applications are heard in Court by a Magistrate.  You cannot appeal if your application is refused.  It is important that your application is well prepared and properly presented to the Magistrate.

Application for a Restricted Work Licence

 

This applies if you have been charged with drink or drug driving (but not driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs or fail to provide a specimen of breath at a police station).

Application for a Special Hardship Order

 

This applies if your licence is to be suspended by Queensland Transport because:-

- you have been charged with driving more than 40km over the speed limit; and/or

- you have lost your good driving behaviour licence due to an accumulation of demerit points.
